 Loot Bags Filled with Favors
Though everyone knows, it always bears repeating that baby showers are not just for the new arrival! If this is the first baby, Mom and Dad deserve a treat (and will probably be thankful and touched at your thoughtful generosity) and if there is already another child in the family, they should never be left out.
Baby shower loot bags are often the gifts that require the most thought, and effort. New babies need so many things, and many of them get forgotten in favor of larger gifts. I don’t know of a mother to be who would not be very pleased with a gift bag, box, baby bath, wicker basket, or baby carrier stuffed with small, often forgotten items. Good choices would be baby wash, baby bath, lotions, diapers, bibs, receiving blankets, onesies, teething rings, bottles, bottle warmers, baby brushes, wash cloths, rattles, infant toys, diaper shirts and t-shirts, socks, baby cereal feeders, spoons, diaper rash ointment, thermometer, and any other small goodie you see that you think would come in handy, because most people honestly do not think of the smaller things everyone needs and runs out of at Four O’clock in the morning.
Often, there is an older sibling present, and a wrapped present for them (even something simple like a book or a DVD to watch) often keeps him or her from feeling left out, and makes the sibling a part of the new baby’s arrival.
A carefully thought out welcome home loot box, is easy and appreciated. I simply line a small wicker laundry basket with a checked table cloth, add in uncooked spaghetti noodles, a jar of home made spaghetti sauce, a loaf of home-baked bread, a pot of real butter, a block of real Parmesan cheese, a bottle of gourmet mushrooms, a bottle of sparkling cider, two champagne flutes, and a loaf of home-baked banana bread. Tuck in a couple of cloth napkins, and that first dinner at home is a breeze for Dad to pamper Mom with!

Guess the Scent of the Candle is a bridal shower game that every woman will love. Get about 5 to 6 candles and make sure the wrappers or tags are not on them. Number them one through however many you have. Give everyone a piece of paper along with a pen. Let each guest sniff each candle to try and guess it. Have them write it down. The person to guess the most right wins.
The biggest ceremony for wedding vow renewals was held April 20th of 2008 in Spain. In a gathering that broke the Guinness Record, 338 couples gathered in their original wedding best to renew their vows. Surely not a day that will be forgotten for many onlookers.
